2012 Wilmington Trust Estate Planning Teleconference Series
2012 Wilmington Trust Estate Planning Teleconference Series
Sponsored by the Cannon Financial Institute
The Wilmington Trust Estate Planning Teleconference Series, featuring nationally renowned estate planning attorneys, continues on Tuesday, October 16, 2012 at 12:30 p.m. It is our pleasure to invite you to join us for this Wilmington Trust Complimentary “Lunch and Learn,” with CE credits available, including CLE and CPA/CPE.
This month’s seminar will present “Making a Difference in Advising Philanthropic Clients.” The speakers will focus instruction on a subject that is often a topic of debate among our elected representatives on Capitol Hill, charitable planning is one of the most dynamic, interesting and rewarding subspecialties in estate planning. Register today!
There are often three impediments faced by estate planners in expanding their charitable giving practice: finding clients with substantial charitable intent, the funds available to make charitable gifts and the willingness to work through (even with the help of their advisors) the strict and complicated rules under the Code. This latter impediment can cause clients to throw up their hands and simply write a check rather than engage in more sophisticated charitable giving. Our expertise in issues such as the following, however, will often make their lives easier:
- Recent developments from the IRS and the courts regarding charities and charitable gifts
- Practical considerations for drafting and administering a charitable remainder trust
- Structuring charitable gift annuities
- The supporting organization quagmire
A luncheon will be hosted beginning at 12:30 p.m. in the boardroom at M & T Bank, 1330 South Atherton Street, State College. The conference call commences promptly at 1:00 p.m. and continues until 2:00 p.m., followed by a half-hour Q&A session.
